  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    With the game balanced on a knife edge deep into stoppage time, Chelsea defender Axel Disasi thought he bagged the winner only for VAR to chalk it off due to a foul in the box from Benoit Badiashile. This led to a stampede of blue shirts heading towards the officials at full-time, with Noni Madueke picking up a caution for getting up close and personal with referee Craig Pawson. The players had to be physically dragged away by members of staff to avoid any further punishment.

    The Blues skipper reflected on the incident at the end of the game with TNT Sports, saying: "We are gutted really. I felt we should have won the game, we were hard done by. I am proud of the lads for the second-half performance. The goal at the end should have counted but it's not my decision. We can hold our heads high and take a lot of confidence."
