Burnley's 3-1 win over Millwall on the final day of the Championship season wasn't enough to beat Leeds United to top spot and the league title, but the Clarets will still be back in the Premier league come August. Cue celebrations in the dressing room afterwards, with popstar Natasha Bedingfield bizarrely joining the players in a rendition of the song 'Unwritten'. The song gained international fame two decades ago as the theme music used for television show The Hills, but has got big again thanks to a weirdly prominent role in Anyone But You, a film starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Unwritten was adopted by the Burnley squad as their unofficial anthem earlier this season and has clearly helped buoy the group following last season's relegation. But Bedingfield, who was born near Brighton and raised in London and New Zealand, has no other connection to the football club or the town, so for her to join the players on the pitch after the final whistle and then in the dressing room was still a bit strange. Organised by the club, it was a complete surprise for the players.

    WHAT NATASHA BEDINGFIELD SAID

"Surprising the Burnley players was so much fun, seeing their reactions was priceless!" Bedingfield told the club's official website. "I'm incredibly grateful that Unwritten has meant so much to them, it's an incredible story to be a part of. Congratulations to the team on such a huge moment, they deserve every bit of it!"

According to Burnley captain Josh Brownhill: "Natasha is an honorary Claret now."

    WHAT NEXT?

The project is only half complete for Burnley. They have done the work on the pitch to get back into the Premier League at the first attempt, but recruiting well over the summer months will be crucial to actually staying there. Their top flight return is just over three months away.
