Bournemouth to bring in PFA support for attacker Antoine Semenyo after allegedly suffering racist abuse at Anfield in Liverpool loss

During Liverpool's 4-2 win over Bournemouth last Friday, Semenyo complained to the referee that he had been racially abused by a fan. Days on from the incident, The Times state that the Cherries plan to bring in a PFA representative this week to support the 25-year-old; offering confidential assistance and more.

Soon after this occurred, a 47-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence. Since then, he has been banned from every football stadium in the UK. The authorities will hope this will send a message that this behaviour is completely unacceptable and a strong deterrent.

The report adds that the stadium ban is part of the man's bail conditions, which also includes "not to go within one mile" of a designated football ground. Semenyo is said to be "ok" after the Anfield incident.

Ghana international Semenyo, who scored twice in the thrilling game at Liverpool in their Premier League opener, will hope to add to his goal tally on Saturday against Wolves. After that, they begin their Carabao Cup campaign on August 26 at home to Brentford.
