Bayern Munich scrambling to fight off Liverpool, Man City & Chelsea interest in Michael Olise amid talk of €100m bids to bring ex-Crystal Palace star back to Premier League

According to a report by Bild, Bayern are keen to extend the 23-year-old's contract and thus pre-empt interest from the Premier League. A number of top European clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, City and Paris Saint-Germain, are showing increasing interest in Olise. They are allegedly even "more than willing" to pay €100 million (£87m/$118m) for the winger next summer.

Olise is currently under contract until June 2029, but Bayern are keen to prevent their star player from being priced away by another top dog in Europe amid rumours that his contract includes an exit clause which will activate next summer. Bayern officials have therefore already taken the first steps to tie the attacker to the club in the long term. A new contract until 2031 is under discussion.

In this regard, an adjustment to the ex-Crystal Palace star's salary is said to be high on the agenda. Olise currently earns "only" an estimated £10m (€12m/$14m) per year, which gives the Bayern bosses plenty of room for manoeuvre. By way of comparison, top earner Harry Kane is said to receive an annual salary of around £20m.

“Michael has already made a big impression in his first season. He's the kind of player who draws fans to the stadium; it's just fun to watch him play football,” said sporting director Max Eberl, raving about Olise and emphasising: “He still has over three and a half years left on his contract, will become an increasingly decisive factor in FC Bayern's play and shape the future of this team – as far as we're concerned, the longer the better.”

President Herbert Hainer also underlined the importance of the attacking player: "A year ago, Michael Olise was still a relatively unknown quantity – today, the whole world knows him. Signing him has proven to be a real coup, and he has made the step up to the international elite at FC Bayern within a very short time. He is one of the faces of the new FC Bayern, and we hope he will remain so for a long time to come."

After two assists and a goal in the 5-1 rout of debutants Pafos in the Champions League on Tuesday, Olise will be keen to add to his tally of five goals and six assists this season when Bayern take on Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend.
