Just as Barca start to return to full fitness, crisis strikes. The Blaugrana were crippled for almost two months, losing Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Pedri, Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong for various periods. That they stayed afloat in La Liga during that time is, frankly, surprising.
And right as most of them returned, a far longer, and more serious injury has impacted Barca's season. Gavi tore his ACL on Spain duty, and will be out for a long period of time — certainly sure to miss the rest of the campaign. It is a massive blow for Xavi's side, who just seemed to be rounding into full fitness for the busy month of December.
