The report adds his wife Kilner, who planned on divorcing the defender in 2024 after his cheating scandals, is intent on joining him abroad in a bid to save their marriage, but Walker's decision is a footballing one - not a relationship one.

Walker shocked many when City boss Pep Guardiola revealed the veteran wanted to leave the club last week. Both AC Milan and Inter are keen on recruiting the former Tottenham star, with The Sun claiming the latter are close to striking a loan deal for his services. The England international, whose contract runs until 2026, has enjoyed a glittering career and not many would begrudge him getting the move of his dreams.

Walker's City exit seems to be gathering pace after reports suggested he has not travelled with the first-team squad for Tuesday night's Premier League clash away at Brentford.
