Rivers United's Eguma worried about poor Umuahia pitch

Rivers United head coach Stanley Eguma has complained about the poor quality of the Umuahia Township pitch for Abia Warriors clash, but he upbeat they return a positive result.

Following their 1-1 draw at MFM a week ago, the Pride of Rivers are hoping to build on their good display as they bid to stretch their unbeaten run to four successive games in Umuahia.

And the gaffer, who is unpleased by his wards' wastefulness in Lagos, has assured that they will seize the opportunity to right their few wrongs against the 12th-placed Umuahia-based side.

"Playing against Abia Warriors in Umuahia will be a different ball game," Eguma told media.

"There are a lot of factors there. We know their pitch is not too good but I know we are equal to the task. We have played them before and we are raring to go.

"We didn't do enough to win against MFM because we could not take our chances. We will use the match [against Abia Warriors] to correct our mistakes.

"It is a big match and we expect a tough match too but we hope to come back [to Port Harcourt] with a good result."
