MFM spank Kwara United in pre-season friendly

MFM began their pre-season with a bang after they thrashed Kwara United 4-1 in a friendly match played on Tuesday morning at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.

Both teams will take part in a tournament billed for Ado Ekiti and they used the test game to gauge their readiness and the Olukoya Boys have sent a strong signal to other Premier League clubs with the way they thumped a much improved Harmony Boys.

Stanley Okorom who is linked with a move to Enyimba played his valedictory game for the Olukoya Boys and he showed them what they would miss in his absence with a sublime finish in the first minute of hostility in Agege before Azeez Balogun increased the tally in the 26th minute.

Kabir Adeniji ensured that it would be very tough for Kwara United to stage a comeback with the third goal in the 39th minute as MFM raced into a 3-0 lead at halftime.

On the resumption of the second half, Kwara United coach, Abubakar Bala made some changes to keep the scores as it was and it paid off as his team played much better and started threatening the goal area of MFM but without success.

The Harmony Boys did reduce the arrears in the 85th minute through Segun Alebiosu who converted from 12 yards after an infringement in the MFM vital area but the hosts had the last laugh with their fourth goal in the 89th minute through John Oluwafemi to ensure that the game ended 4-1 in MFM’s advantage.
