Kolo Toure backs Manchester City to stun Liverpool

Former Cote d’Ivoire international Kolo Toure has tipped Manchester City to defeat Liverpool in Wednesday’s Uefa Champions League tie.

The Premier League leaders and Jurgen Klopp’s men will trade tackles at Anfield for the first leg of their quarter-final fixture.

And the 37-year-old who played for both sides before calling time on his football career is anticipating a difficult tie with special praises for 'top managers' Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.

"Absolutely, because both teams have top managers. Guardiola is more tactical while Klopp relies more on the ability of the players,” Toure told Sky Sports.

"Liverpool have so many strengths going forward with [Mohamed] Salah and [Sadio] Mane. I think this game is going to be really, really tough.

“But to be honest, when I look at both teams I will go for City because Guardiola is doing an amazing job.

"When you see City play it is why we all love football. It is all about passing and movement.”

Liverpool will be aiming to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in a decade while the Citizens continue their chase for a treble this season.
