“We have a test game against Gombe United and we want to use it as a preparation for our key premier league encounter with El Kanemi Warriors and the rest of the league matches,” Musa told Goal.

“My boys have responded very well to training and I must commend them for the role they have played in making themselves fully fit not too long after we resumed training. The game with Gombe United is just a formality to confirm our readiness for the game with El Kanemi Warriors and our other opponents in the league.

“We are not happy with our present position in the league table and we want to do everything possible to ensure that we close up the gap between teams that are ahead of us. The players have been briefed on what they must do and we want to put every effort to ensure that we finish the season better than our present third position.”

He also expressed satisfaction with the attitude of his players and the technical officials to work since they resumed from the World Cup break and he charged them not to relent in their determination to usurp Lobi Stars and Akwa United to the league crown.

“I must commend the attitude of the players and my backroom staff for the effort they have put in since we resumed and this has made me become convinced that we can do it,” he added.

“I want to appeal to them that we must maintain this type of spirit until the end of the season. We must continue in the same way for the remaining matches we have if we are to displace Lobi Stars and Akwa United.”
