EDF Logrono failed to secure a back-to-back win but were at their best against Rayo Vallecano in a 1-1 draw on Sunday at the Estadio Ciudad Deportiva in Madrid.

The hosts were desperately aiming to extend their winning run to three matches in a row but they battled to escape defeat against their visitors to earn a point in an engaging contest.

The encounter almost ended goalless but Zambia's Brabara Banda set Equatorial Guinea's Jade Boho to fire the newcomers ahead of Irene Ferreras' side on the brink of half time.

However, Rayo leveled matters six minutes after the restart when Eva Alonso played Mendi through before the latter powered home for 1-1.

The encounter which also featured Boho's fellow Equatorial Guinea compatriot Dorine Chuigoué ended with the two teams sharing the spoils.

The goal was Boho's first in 13 appearances this season for Hector Blanco's ladies, who remains unbeaten in three straight matches.

They are now 11th on the Spanish women Superliga table with 13 points from 13 games and will face second-placed Barcelona in their next encounter on December 16, 2018 in Sant Joan Despí.
