CHAN provides home-based Eagles platform for World Cup inclusion - Ezenwa

Ikechukwu Ezenwa believes that his CHAN Eagles teammates can play their way into the heart of Nigeria national team coach Gernot Rohr ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Ezenwa will lead 22 other players drawn from the domestic league to Morocco on Wednesday for the African Nations Championship which starts in January 12 through to February 4. And the Enyimba goalkeeper reckons that they could use the competition to force their ways into the World Cup plans of the Super Eagles handler.

“I think any player that does very well will have an opportunity because the technical adviser, Gernot Rohr will be in Morocco with us just like he was with us in Ghana where some players who did well were invited for the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia,” Ezenwa told The NFF.

“So, I strongly believe anyone who proves himself well will definitely get a look-in, but the most important thing for us right now is to go to Morocco and do the nation proud by winning the trophy.”

The Eagles B side are drawn against Rwanda, Libya and Equatorial Guinea in Group C and they will play their first game on January 15 in the city of Tangier.
