Beware of Heartland - Coach Madu warns NPFL teams

Heartland coach Ramson Madu has warned other Nigeria Professional Football League teams to be wary of his team after they picked their first win of the season in their 2-0 victory over Kwara United in Owerri on Sunday.

The Naze Millionaires had gone six games without a win before they beat the Harmony Warriors through goals from Abiodun Thompson and Nnamdi Egbujo.

And the tactician hinted in an interview that with their first win under their belt, they are going to start getting more both home and away.

“I have already told you that my boys’ morale will be boosted as soon as we get our first win. We had it on Sunday and everyone is happy and the confidence level is very high. It was not an easy win but we tried everything possible to ensure that the maximum points are recorded after four home games,” Madu told Goal.

“The win is the boost we needed to prepare for our rescheduled game with Niger Tornadoes on Wednesday. We are going with the conviction that we can pick another win after we have been able to end our poor start with the victory against Kwara United.

“I love the atmosphere in the dressing room at the end of the match. It was the right atmosphere. We will try to continue to do our best to ensure that we keep Imo people and our fans happy,” he said.

Heartland have jumped to 16th in the league standings from the bottom with seven points from six games and they could rise more with a favourable result when they face Niger Tornadoes.
