Phil Parkinson has heaped praise upon Issa Kabore after the Manchester City loanee impressed for the Red Dragons again as they continued their steady start to life in the Championship with a 1-1 draw with Derby County. The Wrexham boss was pleased with the way his new signings have settled into his squad and is beginning to see a level of consistency in their performances.

Wrexham's winless run at home to start life in the Championship continued after a brilliant Ben Brereton Diaz goal denied them all three points against Derby on Saturday. The Red Dragons had taken the lead in the 59th minute after Lewis O'Brien nodded home a delightful Issa Kabore cross. The former Nottingham Forest man was lucky to still be on the pitch after the referee only showed him a yellow for a reckless tackle.

Wrexham completed the double signing of Manchester City starlet Issa Kabore and Blackburn Rovers defender Dominic Hyam on deadline day. Kabore, who joined the Cityzens in 2020, has had six different loan spells across Europe in the last five years and will now be taking in a seventh with the Red Dragons. Hyam, a former Reading youth player, joins the Welsh side permanently after spending three seasons at Blackburn.

Wrexham are closing in on a deal that will see them add a sixth ex-Premier League star to their ranks, with a loan for Isaa Kabore being lined up.
