Italy defender Alessandro Bastoni admitted he did not expect to score twice in two international matches after earning a 1-1 draw against France. Returning from a international hiatus, the Inter centre-back declared that the Azzurri can now compete against any team.
Italy demonstrated immense character at the Stade de France to secure a hard-fought 1-1 draw against a star-studded French side led by Zinedine Zidane. Despite falling behind to a spectacular strike, the Azzurri fought back to ensure they left Paris with a valuable point in their Nations League group.
Alessandro Bastoni has called on Italy to move past their habit of self-criticism as the Azzurri prepare for a high-stakes Nations League showdown against France. The Inter defender believes the national team must build on the momentum of their recent victory over Turkiye to establish a new, consistent identity under Roberto Mancini.
Real Madrid are weighing up an audacious transfer strategy that could see former academy star Nico Paz act as the key to unlocking a deal for Inter's Alessandro Bastoni. Jose Mourinho is desperate to bolster his defensive line at the Bernabeu, and a complex series of negotiations involving the Argentine midfielder may provide the perfect solution.
Inter president Giuseppe Marotta has firmly shut down speculation linking star defender Alessandro Bastoni with a move to Barcelona. The Nerazzurri chief insisted that the Italian international remains a fundamental part of the club's long-term project and has shown no desire to seek a new challenge elsewhere.
Hansi Flick has reportedly intervened in Barcelona’s transfer market, stalling a €70 million move for Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni. The German manager has expressed tactical concerns regarding Bastoni's lack of recovery speed, fearing that pairing the Italian with young star Pau Cubarsí would leave the Blaugrana’s high defensive line exposed to counter-attacks.
Inter president Beppe Marotta has openly acknowledged that Barcelona are monitoring star defender Alessandro Bastoni ahead of the summer transfer window. While the Nerazzurri chief admitted to the interest from the La Liga giants, he remained firm that the centre-back is currently settled at San Siro.
Barcelona boss Hansi Flick doesn't want to get bogged down in questions about the summer transfer window at this particular moment in time, and that's perfectly understandable. The Catalans may be presently nine points clear of Real Madrid in the Spanish title race, but there's still work to be done - possibly without an injured Lamine Yamal - and, as Flick pointed out on Tuesday, "La Liga is not an easy league."
Alessandro Bastoni is reportedly cooling on the idea of a summer move to Barcelona as he focuses on securing another Serie A title with Inter. Despite a barrage of reports in both the Italian and Spanish media suggesting a deal is close, the defender’s heart remains firmly in Milan.
