Commentary

That's all from us, we hope you enjoyed the game as much as we did! Until next time, goodbye!
That 2-1 victory sends Marseille into the last eight of the 2022-23 Coupe de France, the draw of which will be finalised after Lorient and Lens have met in the final round of 16 clash. They may still trail PSG by eight points in Ligue 1, but having dumped them out of the domestic cup, and set to face the champions in less than three weeks, they'll be confident they can produce another complete performance to taste victory again at the Velodrome.
Malinovskiy's howitzer of a left foot scored the winner 12 minutes into the second half, and the on-loan Atalanta forward was instrumental throughout. Both of his attempts were on target, but yielded an xG of just 0.13, showing just how difficult a chance the winner was to finish. Malinovskiy also completed 89 per cent of his passes in the final third, and won the ball a whopping eight times. Twice these came in PSG's own defensive third, showing just how crucial the press, led from the front by the Marseille front three, was to the hosts securing victory in this fantastic game.
It's all over!!! What a game of football!!! Marseille hang on by the skin of their teeth, or rather by the yard between Ramos and the last man, to win 2-1 and progress to the quarter-finals off the Coupe de France at PSG's expense! While not having the free-flowing, uber-creation of chances like the first half did, the second was still played at a frenetic pace with both sides getting forward as often and as quickly as possible. Marseille did just that on 57 minutes, with Alexis Sanchez's blocked shot falling for Ruslan Malinovskiy to slam home a belting volley. PSG piled on the pressure, looking for an equaliser, but stoic, heroic and somewhat fortunate defending from Marseille ensured they saw out the game as 2-1 winners. What a performance from the hosts, and with PSG out the way, OM can certainly see themselves as favourites for the cup based on the last 90 minutes.
90' + 6' FULL-TIME: MARSEILLE 2-1 PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN.
90' + 6' THAT MIGHT DO IT!!! Options queue up in the box for PSG as Messi floats the ball in, but Lopez rises above them all to pluck the ball out of the sky and hold it, which could well be enough for Marseille to hold on here!
90' + 5' Mendes flies forward through the middle once more before finding Ekitike to his left, but his cross into the area is met by a strong header away from Rongier as the clock ticks down on a Marseille win!
90' + 3' SAVED!!! Ramos has stayed forward, and escapes his marker at the back post as Messi crosses into the area. It's a free header, but Ramos can only send the ball into Lopez's gloves and Marseille survive!
90' + 2' CHANCE!!! A crazy passage of play ensues when Mendes' cross bounces off the bar and into the path of Ramos. He heads into the goal with Lopez on the floor, but Gigot uses his hand to claw the ball back off the line!! It looks a dead-cert penalty, but instead of pointing to the spot, he indicates an offside in the build-up, and relays show that the PSG defender was a good yard beyond the last defender! A Luis Suarez-esque handball on the line from Gigot goes unpunished, somehow, and it's Marseille who will get the free-kick!
90' + 1' We're into five minutes of injury time at the end of this game, and will we see another late twist to this high-octane encounter?
Vítinha
A. Sánchez
90' Sanchez comes off having also been a crucial cog in this Marseille machine at the Velodrome, and Vitinha, of Marseille this time, replaces the Chilean.
88' Neymar beats one in midfield before finding Messi, who shapes to shoot but is tackled superbly by Gigot on the turn, who sets off on the counter for Marseille in a brilliant display of defending!
A. Ounahi
C. Ünder
85' Under has been quieter in the second half, but has still had a massive part to play in this game, and comes off to rousing applause for new signing Azzedine Ounahi to see out the final minutes.
84' Neymar cuts inside and runs across the edge of the box, being forced wide by Mbemba and Rongier. He hesitates from shooting and instead looks for Ekitike, but the pass is wayward and rolls behind for a goal kick!
83' Marseille break out from their own box and Veretout sends Malinovskiy flying down the right on his own with the ball. The Ukrainian playmaker is isolated goalscorer is isolated though, and has to slow down significantly as support arrives.
81' Neymar swings a cross-field pass into the box looking for the run of Hakimi at the far post, but Kabore cuts it out for Marseille and is able to clear the ball away from danger.
79' WIDE!!! An uncharacteristic miss! Neymar glides between three statuesque defenders before teeing up Messi in the box, but his attempt to place his finish in the top corner goes awry and he dinks the ball wide of the far post!
78' SAVED!!! Zaire-Emery has time on the edge of the box to pick his pass, and finds Ekitike to his right. His first-time shot is parried behind by the foot of Lopez, but he's flagged for offside to gift Marseille a free-kick!
Carlos Soler
M. Verratti
76' Verratti's been at the centre of plenty in the middle of the park in this game, but comes off now for Carlos Soler, who scored PSG's penultimate goal in their 7-0 round of 32 victory over Pays de Cassel.
75' Hakimi's inside pass finds Neymar in all sorts of space, and he beats two challenges as he darts into the box, but a loose final touch allows Gigot to step in and hook the ball clear!
73' The two number 10's come together after Sanchez drops deep to pick up possession, but is clipped by Neymar to win another Marseille free-kick.
71' Marseille win a corner off a deflection from Hakimi, but Donnarumma gets a strong hand to Sanchez's delivery and palms it clear for PSG.
69' Guendouzi is caught very late by Neymar in the centre circle, in a very similar foul to Ekitike's on Gigot, and the Brazilian is very lucky to have avoided a card there.
67' Gigot takes a nasty pair of studs in the calf from Ekitike, and has stayed down. The players take on water during this interval, which is more than understandable given the pace this game is being played at!
65' Under cuts inside to find himself on the edge of the box once more, but his shot this time doesn't have anywhere near enough power to trouble Donnarumma, who saves with ease.
Nuno Mendes
Yellow Card
64' Mendes runs through the middle and looks to shoot, but Veretout gets back to dispossess him with a well-timed tackle. The PSG left-back lashes out though, and is rightfully shown a yellow card by the referee.
H. Ekitike
Vitinha
63' Vitinha is also withdrawn by Christophe Galtier, and another striker in Hugo Ekitike comes on.
W. Zaïre-Emery
Danilo Pereira
63' Danilo also comes off as PSG look to get themselves back into the game by introducing teenage striker Warren Zaire-Emery.
I. Kaboré
S. Kolašinac
63' Kolasinac is the first Marseille player rotated, as Issa Kabore comes on for him.
61' What a tackle!!! Neymar clips a forward ball through into the box, which Mendes latches onto, but Rongier gets back and wins the ball and cleanly and casually as you like before clearing for Marseille! How cool from the captain!
59' Marseille have now scored twice in the first 15 minutes of the second half in the Coupe De France this season, more than any other side. They sure do love a fast start here; the place is absolutely rocking!
57' GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLL!!!! What a strike that is!!! From a Marseille throw, Mbemba surges into the box and lays the ball off to Sanchez. He shoots into a crowd of bodies and the ball skews out to Malinovskiy, who whacks the ball first time and sends his thumping half-volley beyond Donnarumma and into the top corner!! The goalkeeper got a hand to it, but the power of the shot was just too great and Marseille fly back into a 2-1 lead!!
57' CHANCE!!! Rongier dispossessed Verratti and drives into the PSG box before feeding Sanchez. He's crowded out and looks to clip a ball to Malinovskiy at the far post, but it's cut out and put back to Donnarumma by Marquinhos.
55' Malinovskiy intervenes in midfield and looks to turn away on the counter, but he's tripped by Danilo amongst a crowd of players and wins the hosts a free-kick.
53' It's been a rather scrappy start to this second half, with neither side yet able to carve out any chances. There's been plenty in the way of fouls though, and two yellow cards, suggesting the free-flowing fizz of the first period may well give way to an attritional battle as both sides seek the winner.
51' That Ramos equaliser was the 21st consecutive Coupe de France game in which PSG have scored, showing just how difficult they are to keep at bay regardless of the scoreline.
C. Mbemba
Yellow Card
49' Neymar is the next to go down, after being caught late by Mbemba, and the centre-back becomes the second OM player in as many minutes to go into the book.
M. Guendouzi
Yellow Card
48' The second half has kicked off in a very feisty manner, and after Verratti attempts to skip through midfield, he's tripped by Guendouzi, who is shown a yellow card which has certainly been coming.
46' Malinovskiy kicks off the second half, as Marseille get us back underway.
The teams return for the second half, and we've got every finger and toe crossed in hope that it's anywhere near as good as the first!
Having started the game at right-wing-back, Marseille's Under has moved forward at every opportunity to have a plethora of chances to score. He's managed two shots on target, one of which was agonisingly close to being an unbelievable goal, and has completed four final third entries. In that area of the pitch, he's had six touches in the box, completed 15 passes, and won the ball six times, winning four of his seven overall duels, including via two dribbles. Maverick.
What a half of football that was!! Hosts Marseille completely outplayed the Ligue 1 champions for almost the entire first 45 minutes, but only had one goal to show for it from Sanchez's penalty. Heroics from Donnarumma between the sticks for PSG have kept Igor Tudor's men out at every other opportunity, with Under, Malinovskiy, Guendouzi and Clauss all having chances to put Marseille out of sight. PSG hung in there though, and Ramos' late header means it's as you were going into the second half, and if the second lives up to the first, what a game we're in for here!
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: MARSEILLE 1-0 PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN.
Goal
45' + 2' GOOOOAAAALLL!!! PSG equalise out of nothing!! That Messi shot took a deflection, and Neymar's corner is met by a superb glancing header from Ramos at the near post, which sees the ball beat Lopez before nestling in the top-right corner!!! It's 1-1, and all of Marseille's brilliance in this first half is undone right at the end of it!
Neymar
Assist
45' + 2' Assist Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior
45' + 1' WIDE!!! Messi picks up the ball in midfield and drifts through several challenges. With options in the box, he chooses to shoot, but sends a right-footed effort wide of the far post!
45' We'll play an additional minute of stoppage time to close out this highly entertaining first half.
44' That Under chance was Marseille's TWELFTH attempt on goal so far. 12 attempts on goal against PSG from French opposition is practically unheard of these days, and they're more than good value for that 1-0 lead!
42' OFF THE BAR!!! What a chance to score an absolute beauty!!! Mbemba clips a peach of a pass into the box for Under, who turns Marquinhos with a Bergkamp-esque flick, before dinking the ball up and hammering it off the crossbar! Donnarumma may have got a slight touch, but either way, that was a goal of the season contender in the making!
41' SAVED!!! Clauss is steaming down the right to latch onto Sanchez's throughball, and from just inside the box drills a low shot which Donnarumma gets down to parry before Ramos cleans up for PSG!
40' OFF THE POST!!! Messi's flicked pass onto Neymar sees the Brazilian cut inside before shooting, and he sends a low effort beyond Lopez but into the base of the post! The ball cracks back inside off the far post, but Mbemba gets there first to clear!
39' Hakimi races onto a cross-field pass and hooks the ball square for Messi, but his shot from the edge of the area is well blocked by Gigot.
38' OVER!!! PSG win a free-kick 30 yards from goal, and with Messi and Neymar standing over it, Marseille smell trouble. Their gigantic wall does nothing to stop the ball though, which Messi strikes and sends sailing just over the top of Lopez's net!
36' Hakimi looks to make another break down the right flank, but is shunted over the touchline by Kolasinac and wins the free-kick.
34' That Sanchez penalty was the eighth consecutive game in which Marseille have scored, and also the ninth home game in a row. With the lead, the focus will now be on preserving or adding to it against a PSG side who can score from anywhere!
32' PSG look for an immediate response as Messi beats two on his way into the box, but Gigot does brilliantly to get goal-side of the Argentine and wins the ball cleanly!
A. Sánchez
Penalty Goal
31' GOOOOOAAAALLL!!! Never. In. Doubt! Sanchez steps up to take the penalty, and with a hop and a skip nestles the ball nonchalantly into the bottom corner, sending Donnarumma the wrong way and Marseille into a 1-0 lead! It's no less than they deserve, and the home fans certainly know it!
29' PENALTY!!!! Under takes down a cross-field pass with brilliant skill, and steps inside Ramos on his way into the box. The Spaniard nudges into the back of Under, doing enough to bring the winger to ground, and the referee shows no hesitation in pointing to the spot! Marseille have started this game with all the intent of a top, top side, and they could go into a deserved lead here!
27' A Marseille corner is well cleared and Hakimi springs the counter-attack, surging away down the right flank. Support arrives and he looks to tee up Vitinha, but the final pass is poor and the chance comes to nothing!
25' BLOCKED!!! Another Malinovskiy cross sees Donnarumma come out to punch, but the ball only goes as far as Guendouzi. He drills a half-volley towards goal, and with the goalkeeper stranded, Ramos sticks out a leg which sends it wide of the post! What an intervention from Ramos!
24' Sanchez does brilliantly on the turn to play a throughball forward which puts Under in behind. He's racing onto it, but Donnarumma rushes out of his goal to scythe it clear and over the touchline!
23' PSG try to play the ball out from the back following an offside free-kick against Sanchez, but Verratti is clipped from behind by Guendouzi and the visitors gain another foul.
21' WIDE!!! After Sanchez and Under getting in each other's way snuffs a Marseille chance, they recycle possession and it comes to Kolasinac on the edge of the box. He hits a piledriver of a shot which beats Donnarumma all ends up, before flying inches wide of the far post!
19' The first 20 minutes of this match have been absolutely electrifying, with Marseille really taking the game to PSG. The hosts have had seven shots to Paris' one so far, twice testing Donnarumma, and they're also winning 65 per cent of the duels, showing just how keen they are to win that ball back as soon as they lose it.
17' Neymar is put into yards of space, and cuts inside to link up with Messi. He tries to find space in the box, but his pass to tee up Vitinha goes astray and Marseille clear!
16' SAVED!!! Malinovskiy weaves his way between two challenges before shooting from the edge of the box, and despite seeing it late, Donnarumma is able to get down and hold the effort at the second time of asking!
15' Mendes has picked up an injury and stayed down, so plays stops until the PSG left-back is able to return to his position.
13' PSG counter with the hosts' defence scrambling back in cover. Neymar, with a four-on-three, looks to pick out Ruiz in space to his left, but Mbemba cuts out the pass with a beauty of an interception and strides forward for Marseille!
12' Under whips a teasing ball towards the back post, where Kolasinac arrives late and skews a header wide of the target!
10' BLOCKED!!! Gigot finds himself in the box for Marseille and clips a cross back towards the goalmouth. A deflection almost takes the ball into the net, but Under's attempt at the back post is blocked behind for a corner by Mendes!
10' Malinovskiy's cross into the area takes a deflection and loops towards the six-yard box, before Donnarumma comes out with a big punch to clear the danger for PSG!
8' Verratti is clattered from behind by Guendouzi, and the two number sixes don't look happy with each other after no card is shown by the referee. It's been one hell of a start to this one!
6' SAVED!!!! Fingertip stop from a diving Donnarumma! Under cuts inside from the right and sends a curling effort towards goal. It looks to be heading over, but dips right at the last second, forcing the PSG goalkeeper into a desperate, diving save as he just tips the ball beyond the crossbar!
6' A Marseille attack looks to have come to nothing, but the ball is picked up by Veretout in midfield. From 20 yards, he goes for glory, and fizzes a very good effort just over the bar!
4' SAVED!!!! Neymar releases Mendes into all sorts of space, and the left-back rampages down the channel. He charges into the box and fires a powerful shot towards the top corner, but Lopez parries superbly to push the ball away from danger! That must've stung his fingertips alright!
3' Clauss looks to drill a low cross into the area, but the ball deflects off Hakimi and flicks up into the right-back's midriff. The hosts scream for a penalty, but the referee isn't budging and calls play on!
2' Guendouzi comes forward and plays a throughball into the box for Malinovskiy to chase. He flicks it on to Under, but a vital Ramos touch causes the winger to mis-kick the ball and it goes behind for a goal kick!
1' Messi kicks off for PSG, and the latest chapter in Le Classique is underway!
The teams are out on the pitch, and we're just moments away from kick-off in Marseille!
Kylian Mbappe scored five of PSG's seven in their rout of Pays de Cassel last time out, but an injury picked up against Montpellier rules him out of this one. 'Stand-ins' Lionel Messi and Neymar shouldn't do too badly in his place though, as they start up front together.
Matteo Guendouzi scored Marseille's winner in the last round and has adapted well to life as an attacking midfielder. He starts on the right side of OM's front three, alongside Alexis Sanchez and Ruslan Malinovskiy.

PSG, ahead of closest chasers Marseille by eight points in Ligue 1, beat sixth-tier side Pays de Cassel 7-0 in the last round. Kylian Mbappe, now the competition's top scorer in 2022-23, scored five, with Neymar and Carlos Soler chipping in with further goals in either half.
'Le Classique' is played for a second time this season between France's two most successful clubs, with PSG winning the home league fixture 1-0 in October. Marseille reached the last 16 by beating Rennes 1-0 in the round of 32, thanks to Matteo Guendouzi's second-half strike.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this fixture in the Coupe de France, as Marseille take on Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16.
