Xabi Alonso 'not entirely happy' with Rodrygo as Real Madrid's transfer stance on Arsenal & Tottenham target is revealed

According to The Athletic, Alonso is still looking to add more players to his squad before the summer transfer window and will look for Rodrygo's replacement if the Brazilian leaves Santiago Bernabeu. The Spanish coach is 'not entirely happy' with the winger, who is working with his agent Pini Zahavi over a possible exit, as he is not so sure about his role in the team.

The report also claims that while Alonso is asking for a few more additions to his roster, the club have made it clear they are done making signings and the coach will have to make do with his existing squad. Los Blancos, however, will be open to selling the Selecao star if an appropriate offer comes their way. 

Rodrygo's uncertain future at the Spanish club will alarm English giants like Arsenal and Tottenham, who are keen on signing the winger to further bolster their attack. With Son leaving Spurs this summer, they in particular could benefit from signing the 24-year-old.  

Madrid will face WSG Tirol in a pre-season friendly next week before formally kicking off the 2025-26 La Liga campaign against Osasuna at home on August 19.
