Liverpool’s Alisson Becker was the last goalkeeper prior to Pickford to join the 100 club, hitting the mark during a goalless draw with Leeds United in January 2026. Other modern greats on the list include Manchester City’s Ederson, who currently sits on 122 clean sheets.

However, Pope has found playing time difficult to come by recently, having lost his starting spot at St James' Park to Lukas Hornicek.

The difficulty of maintaining such a record is evident in the technical requirements, as keepers must complete a full 90 minutes to be officially credited with a shut-out.
