Transfer blow for Arsenal, Chelsea & Newcastle! Coveted young defender Ousmane Diomande has no plans to leave Sporting CP - yet

The centre-back has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle in recent months, but A Bola claims that he plans on getting as much playing time as possible with the Portuguese club between now and the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Arsenal are said to have already made a bid for the 19-year-old, while other teams such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle are reportedly monitoring his performances this season, too. However, any team hoping to sign him will have to match his eye-watering €80 million (£70m/$87m) release clause before Sporting would agree to let him go, A Bola claims.

The Ivorian only joined Sporting from Danish side Midtjylland in January this year. He has featured in every Primeira Liga and Europa League match so far this season, playing an impressive role for Ruben Amorim's team.

Diomande will hope to help Sporting claim the Primeira Liga crown this season, with the Lisbon club level on points with Benfica at the top of the table. They also sit second in their Europa League group with two games left to play.
