    THE BIGGER PICTURE

While the German publication did not name the English sides, Fiorentina are said to be the Serie A outfit who have a free transfer for Muller in their sights ahead of the summer window.

MLS executives reportedly convened in Chicago recently, where discussions included the potential arrival of Muller. The consensus among the bosses was that the 35-year-old's signing would significantly elevate the league’s profile. However, staying in Europe for another season or two could entice Muller, which would mean turning down Los Angeles FC, the team that he has been linked with heavily in the past few weeks.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

There has been interest from Turkey, too, with Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce willing to sign Muller as a free agent this summer. Per reports, the Turkish heavyweights could offer him a one-year deal with the option to extend for another year based on performances and mutual agreement.

    WHAT NEXT FOR THOMAS MULLER?

Muller found himself on the scoresheet in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Inter last week, which Bayern lost 2-1. It is expected that he will play some role off the bench in the second half of the second leg at San Siro on Wednesday, in what could possibly be his final Champions League outing for the Bavarians.
