  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The English Premier League side announced Friday that an upcoming documentary surrounding their 2023 promotion to the top flight is in the works with streaming platform Peacock. The trailer, which highlights boss Vincent Kompany, a few players and multiple highlight clips, has a similar feel to that of FX show Welcome to Wrexham. The Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned Welsh club's documentary series has been an absolute hit, gaining viewers from all over the world.

The forthcoming series is titled Mission to Burnley and it's safe to assume Watt will play a role in it, someway, somehow!

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Watt - who joined Burnley as a co-owner during the Summer - has been a revelation in terms of owner and fan interaction for the Clarets. He's boosted their U.S. footprint, while sharing with his massive NFL following of his passion for the game. Most recently, he was pictured pouring pints for supporters ahead of a match in England. This follows the trend of American superstars buying into ownership groups of English football clubs, with Reynolds and McElhenney leading the way at Wrexham, but also ex-NFL star Tom Brady at Birmingham City, too!

    WHAT NEXT FOR BURNLEY

The Clarets will return to action this weekend when Kompany's side take on Brighton in the Premier League. After thumping Sheffield United 5-0 just over a week ago, they fell to Wolves midweek 1-0. Now, they'll look to go back to their winning ways against the Seagulls as they hit the road against Joao Pedro and Co.
