The Australian tactician was back on the touchline for a Europa League clash with Elfsborg. Tottenham left it relatively late to get the job done on home soil in that contest, with the deadlock only being broken by Dane Scarlett in the 70th minute en route to a 3-0 victory.

Some 90 seconds prior to that, with Spurs eager to find a way through, Postecoglou sought to ensure that no time was wasted from an Elfsborg throw-in. As the ball broke in his direction, the 59-year-old stepped onto the pitch in a bid to retrieve it.

Postecoglou’s efforts were in vain, as the ball rolled out of reach, and he jokingly clutched at the back of his thigh when turning back towards the dugout. Spurs have picked up injuries on a regular basis this season – with the likes of Dominic Solanke, Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Cristian Romero among those currently stuck on the sidelines.

Tottenham ended up collecting a sizeable win against Elfsborg, as they eased their way into the last 16 of the Europa League. Postecoglou is, however, still facing questions of his future in north London after seeing Spurs slip to 15th in the Premier League table on the back of a seven-match winless run.
