Liverpool star Mohamed Salah remains motivated despite Uefa awards snubs

Despite not winning any of the two awards he was nominated for at the 2018 Uefa awards, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah still feels motivated.

On Thursday, Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid’s Luka Modric were named Forward of the Year and Player of the Year respectively, thus, leaving last season’s 44-goal man with nothing to take away from Monaco.

However, Salah, considered a role model to ‘100 million Egyptians’, has vowed to continue becoming a better version of himself.

“When you do something for the first time, nobody has done it as an Egyptian before, something great, it's something I have to be proud of,” Salah said.

“There are 100 million Egyptians who see me as a role model. That's something I have to be very proud of.

“Sometimes you feel pressure because of that but it also makes you work harder to do your job better and better and better.”

Salah has started his second season at Anfield in an impressive manner as he has helped his side to three wins in their three opening games, recording two goals in the process.
