Aboubakar Kamara eyes promotion with Fulham

French-born Mauritanian forward Aboubakar Kamara is poised to reproduce his form that helped Amiens gain promotion to the Ligue 1 for the first time in their history with Fulham.

The striker joined the Cottagers on Monday after agreeing to a four-year deal with Craven Cottage’s giants and he is fascinated with the club’s ambition of securing promotion to the English topflight next season having missed the ticket by a whisker last term.

“This is a great project and I like the way the team plays. The club has ambition, as do I. That’s what I really like, and the fact that the club has a beautiful history also,” Kamara told club website.

“From what I have seen so far from the group, I think we can have a great season.

“We’ll need to take each game as it comes, and we’ll see where this will take us.

“I need to do my job in front of goal and I think if I’m able to do this then the fans will be pleased with me, and so will I.

“I don’t know how many goals I’m going to be able to score here but we’ll soon see what will happen. I’ll be doing everything to bring goals and provide good football.”
