Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi has made a discreet enquiry about the Sydney FC coaching role soon to be vacated by Graham Arnold.
The Covert Agent can reveal Aloisi reached out to Sky Blue management recently via a phone call to throw his hat into the ring for the job.
Aloisi's actions suggest he is unhappy with the employment conditions at the Roar under Indonesian owner Bakrie Group.
He currently has a contract with the Roar until the end of the 2019-20 season.
Aloisi won the A-League double with Sydney as player in 2009-10 - playing 40 matches and scoring 11 goals.
Current Sky Blue assistant coach Steve Corica is understood to be the current favourite for the job.
Sydney FC are believed to have received over 90 coaching resumes and will start considering a replacement over the next week
The Covert Agent can also reveal former Melbourne City coach Michael Valkanis requested a private meeting with Central Coast Mariners owner Mike Charlesworth - three days before Paul Okon left the club.
It cannot be confirmed if the meeting went ahead or not but both parties were in the UK recently.
