Socceroos squad: Martin Boyle and three debutants named for Kuwait friendly

Socceroos coach Graham Arnold has named Scotland-born attacker Martin Boyle and three potential first gamers in the 25-man squad for the friendly against Kuwait.

Boyle, who plies his trade at Scottish premiership side Hibernian with Jamie Maclaren and Mark Milligan, has pledged his allegiance to the green and gold, but won't be able to take to the field in the October 16 (AEST) match in Kuwait City because his FIFA international clearance hasn't been finalised.

Among the debutants, Melbourne Victory defender Thomas Deng has received his first ever call-up, while 19-year-old PEC Zwolle midfielder Denis Genreau will have the chance for minutes after being a part of the Socceroos camp last month.

Denmark-based winger Awer Mabil could also win his first cap after numerous selections in the Australian squad previously.

Attacking stars Tom Rogic and Mathew Leckie return to the national team setup after missing the September training camp, while aside from the retired Mile Jedinak, Mathew Ryan, Aaron Mooy and Andrew Nabbout are the only players missing from Australia's World Cup XI.

Future star Daniel Arzani has been selected despite not being in the first team picture at Celtic.

The match against Kuwait kicks off at 3.30am (AEST) and will be live on Fox Sports.
