Tottenham get their man! Spurs complete huge £55m deal to sign Mohammed Kudus from bitter rivals West Ham as Morgan Gibbs-White confirmation looms

The north London club confirmed they had secured Kudus' signature late on Thursday evening after the player completed his medical. The Ghanaian star has signed a six year deal. Kudus previously had an £85m ($99m) release clause valid for Premier League sides, but West Ham accepted a lower fee to finance their own transfer plans. Spurs had an initial bid of £50m ($58m) rebuffed last week.

Thomas Frank's side are ramping up their efforts in the transfer window, as BBC Sport report Morgan Gibbs-White will complete a medical in N17 on Friday, ahead of a £60m ($70m) move. Spurs have triggered the release clause in the Nottingham Forest star's contract, with negotiations between all parties set to accelerate in the next 24 hours.

The 25-year-old midfielder joined Forest from Wolves for a then club-record fee of £25m plus add-ons in the summer of 2022. He has made 118 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals. During his time at Forest, he has made his full England debut, winning four caps for the Three Lions. Gibbs-White's departure will cause further dismay for fans of the east Midlands outfit. Anthony Elanga is also on his way out of the City Ground, having agreed a £55m ($64m) switch to Newcastle.

Tottenham's attack is shaping up ahead of the new season. The permanent signing of Mathys Tel, and now the acquisitions of Kudus and Gibbs-White in the space of 24 hours is a real statement of intent for a club that has erred on the side of caution in the transfer market. With James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Heung-Min Son all vying for starting spots behind Dominic Solanke, there will be fierce competition within Tottenham's squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
