THE BIGGER PICTURE
With the Egyptian star's contract extension sealed, Liverpool are now looking to convince captain Virgil van Dijk to sign the dotted lines. The Dutch defender is in the final few months of his existing deal and is expected to put pen to paper on a fresh deal. After the clash against the Hammers, Salah sent out a strong message to Van Dijk as he expressed his desire to continue playing together at the English club.
WHAT MOHAMED SALAH SAID
Speaking to Sky Sports, the 32-year-old said: "Everyone knows how much I love this club and let's see what next week will look like. I am glad we managed to do that [contract] before the end of the season. Hopefully, Virgil will be next. He can do whatever he wants, but I would love to play with him next season."
