    Lineker is set to step down from his role as host of Match of the Day at the end of the season in a move that has prompted intense speculation over who will replace the former England striker on the BBC's flagship television show. A host of names have already been mentioned including Mark Chapman, Laura Woods, Alan Shearer and Alex Scott.

    Manchester City and Lionesses star Kelly has now shared her thoughts on the situation and is keen to see the BBC offer the job to a woman. Several female presenters have already been linked with the role since Lineker's announcement including Reshmin Chowdhury, Kelly Cates, Gabby Logan and Kelly Somers.
