    THE BIGGER PICTURE

With both teams toiling at the wrong end of the standings, scrutiny has been firmly placed on the shoulders of Amorim and Postecoglou, who have both continued to stand by their footballing principles and ideals in hope of longer-term success rather than short-term gain. However, while the Portuguese coach has been complimentary of his Australian counterpart, he also claimed managing United comes with a completely different set of challenges.

  • WHAT AMORIM SAID

At a press conference on Friday, Amorim told reporters: "He wants to play football in the right way and that's a good thing. We know when we choose this profession, there are a lot of good things, but you have to feel the pressure when you don't win.

"I am a huge fan of Ange Postecoglou. He is a good guy, a very good coach. I understand the connection with me and Ange. We have the same problem. In my opinion, and with respect, I am at a bigger club, with bigger pressure, and I think coaches must follow their principles."
