Barcelona star Lamine Yamal's father sends out positive message after being rushed to hospital following stabbing attack

Nasraoui, the father of the 17-year-old Barcelona star, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/barcelona-spain-star-lamine-yamal-father-mounir-nasraoui-stabbed-in-car-park/blt9a80a5387a7ee71a#csd83da1e61f30152e" target="_blank">was reportedly stabbed in a parking lot in the Rocafonda neighbourhood</a> near Barcelona and was then transported to Trias i Pujol University Hospital with multiple injuries. Police has since <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/police-confirm-three-arrests-issue-update-health-barcelona-star-lamine-yamal-father-hospital-stabbing/blt14fcee0440ea58c9" target="_blank">confirmed the arrests of three individuals</a> in relation to the attack.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Nasraoui reportedly had a previous history with his assaulters and also had a confrontation with the trio a few hours before the incident, according to the Daily Mail. Reports in Spain have maintained that the 35-year-old remains in hospital for the moment but is 'out of danger'. Nasraoui has now posted an update on his Instagram about his condition.

On his Instagram story, Nasraoui posted a quick and short update that read: "Thank you to everyone. WHAT NASRAOUI SAID

<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/police-confirm-three-arrests-issue-update-health-barcelona-star-lamine-yamal-father-hospital-stabbing/blt14fcee0440ea58c9#cs1c2e91f11daaf918" target="_blank">A spokesman for the regional force has said</a>: “I can confirm three people have been arrested following the stabbing of a man in the neighbourhood of Rocafonda in Mataro. The investigation is still open and officers are still trying to establish the level of implication of those detained. More arrests may take place later today. We're not in a position to offer any more details at this stage about the arrested men’s ages and nationalities. What we can say is that the stabbing occurred at 9.10 pm in a car park and the arrests took place a couple of hours later and the three people arrested were in custody by 11 pm."The arrests occurred in the neighbourhood of Rocafonda in Mataro. The victim was taken to hospital in Barcelona. There was a previous incident involving the men believed to have been involved in the stabbing, shortly after midday yesterday. That incident and the circumstances surrounding the subsequent stabbing and whether the men allegedly involved bumped into each other or the suspects laid in wait for the victim is still under investigation and is an important part of the probe because it will determine the charges the arrested men could face."

WHAT THE POLICE HAVE SAID

Meanwhile, Yamal was back in training on Thursday at Barcelona. The Catalan giants are currently preparing for their opening game of the season against Valencia on Saturday. It remains to be seen if Yamal will be available given the current circumstances.
