Arsenal considering shock transfer for Premier League star to replace Thomas Partey despite closing in on deal to sign Martin Zubimendi

Per the Mirror, Arsenal are keen on signing Brentford captain Norgaard as they look to replace Thomas Partey. ESPN reported earlier this week that Partey’s time at Emirates Stadium appears to be drawing to a close, with the Ghanaian midfielder reportedly set to depart the north London club at the end of the month after a breakdown in contract renewal discussions.

With Partey and Jorginho out of the club, the Gunners are looking to bolster their midfield and have identified Norgaard as their number one choice. The Denmark international, who signed a fresh Bees contract in March this year, still has two years left in his existing deal, which means the club are likely to demand a hefty fee.

The Gunners have already sealed a transfer for Real Sociedad star Zubimendi, who arrived in London on Friday to complete his move. The English giants successfully fended off competition from Real Madrid to seal a move for the Spaniard.

Arteta's side will reassemble in late July and are scheduled to travel to Singapore and Hong Kong for their pre-season tour.
