Ange Postecoglou continues to challenge Australia to aim high on the global stage, hinting that the Socceroos could win the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.

Postecoglou named a 30-man squad on Monday for Australia's World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia in June, plus a friendly versus Brazil and the Socceroos' Confederations Cup fixtures against Germany, Cameroon and Chile.

Brazil, Germany and Chile are three of the world's top four sides in the current FIFA rankings.

"When you look at Brazil, Germany, Chile and Cameroon - particularly the first three - you're talking about three top-10 nations," Postecoglou said.

"It's exactly the arena we want to be in and the environment we want to test ourselves [in], and it'd be great to get to the end of that month and know we've acquitted ourselves well and maybe have another trophy in our cabinet."

The Socceroos will begin their Confederations Cup campaign against Germany in Sochi on June 19 before playing Cameroon in Saint Petersburg three days later.

Chile are Australia's final opponent in Group B - they will play in Moscow on June 25 - and to win the tournament, the Socceroos would need to win a semi-final and the final.
