Despite Lorenzo Insigne's pinpoint ball over the top finding Andrea Belotti, the Torino striker's poor control looked to have allowed Gimenez to clear the danger.
But instead of getting rid, the defender inexplicably fired an unstoppable effort into the top corner of his own goal to give the home side a lead they would never relinquish in a 3-0 win.
