Barcelona defender Yerry Mina has been warned off a move to a “mid-table team like Everton” by fellow Colombian Carlos Valderrama.
The 23-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou following a January arrival from Palmeiras.
He is still considered to be a hot prospect for the future, with his performances at World Cup 2018 highlighting his potential, but regular football away from Catalunya is being mooted.
A potential move to the Premier League has been discussed, with Goal revealing that Everton are considered to be one possible landing spot in a €24 million (£21m) deal.
Valderamma has, however, urged Mina to go in search of top-level European competition, with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray making more sense after admissions that they are also keen.
The Colombian legend told Radio Caracol: “The Premier League is attractive but for me the Champions League is the most prestigious.
“I don’t think Yerry should join a mid-table team like Everton.
“Fatih Terim has a great record of developing players. If it were me, I would pick Galatasaray.”
Terim has revealed that Mina is a target for his side as they start to piece together their summer recruitment plans.

It remains to be seen whether Barca will open themselves up to a permanent deal or look to strike a loan agreement with interested parties.
Mina has, however, hinted at making another move, with there an acceptance on his part that he needs to be playing week in, week out at this stage of his development.
He told Marca which away on international duty: “I want to make the best decision, but being calm is the most important thing.
“I want the best for my life and I have fulfilled a dream arriving at Barcelona, but this year I had some very difficult moments.
“I want a team where I'm calm and can receive minutes.”
