Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa set for CSKA Moscow return

Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa is set for a loan move to CSKA Moscow before the January transfer closes.

The Nigeria international joined the Foxes for € 19.5 million in the summer of 2016 and agreed on a deal that will keep him at the King Power Stadium till 2020.

However, he has found game time difficult to come by having played only once for the side this season.

The forward’s agent Tony Harris confirmed that negotiations have started between both parties and the chances of his client teaming up temporarily with his former club are ‘very high.’

"Negotiations with Leicester continue and go in a positive light,” Harris was quoted on Leicester Mercury.

“Most likely, Ahmed will go on loan to CSKA in this transfer window. The chances for this are very high.''

On Tuesday, Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr hinted that the winger ‘will change team’ ahead of the World Cup.

“We are in the transfer window now and I believe he will change team; Musa is going back to Russia and it is very good news that he will be playing there,” Rohr told NAN.

“Musa playing in Russia is a positive development so that we will have the sympathy of Russian fans.

“Also, Musa knows the people there because he is familiar with them, he knows the weather condition too.’’
