VIDEO: Pinola sees red after sending opponent flying

It's unusual for a player to get sent off while keeping possession of the ball, but Javier Pinola managed just that in Rosario Central's defeat to Banfield.

Just 10 minutes in, the centre-back was shown a straight red card when he held off the challenge of an opponent.

As Banfield attacker Brian Sarmiento came looking for the ball in the middle of the field, he was sent flying by Pinola's arm.

The defender was outraged and remonstrated with the referee, but there was no changing his mind.

Five minutes later, another calamity from Rosario saw Banfield take the lead, with the goalkeeper taking out one of their defenders to allow Mauricio Sperduti to score.

Banfield went on to win the game 3-1, moving up to second in the Primera Division table, two points behind leaders River Plate.
