Daniel Arzani will play a lot for Australia at the World Cup, says Bert van Marwijk

Daniel Arzani will play a big part in Australia's World Cup campaign, according to Socceroos coach Bert van Marwijk.

The 19-year-old winger is the youngest player in Russia, only making his debut for the national team at the start of the month against Czech Republic, before coming off the bench to score and assist in the victory over Hungary on June 10.

Many pundits have called for the Melbourne City star to be used regularly during the World Cup campaign, including Goal's Kieran Francis and former Socceroo Clint Bolton, with Van Marwijk confirming the young prodigy will play a lot but cannot last 90 minutes at this level.

"[Arzani] proved that in 20-25 minutes that he can really make a difference, and that's why he is [at the World Cup]," Van Marwijk said.

"He needs more time to be a real profressional full international but he has the qualities already now to sometimes make a difference."

The Socceroos' World Cup campaign begins with powerhouses France in Kazan on Saturday, before taking on Denmark and Peru in their bid to qualify for the knockout stages.
