Chelsea star Fabregas trolls Trump over #covfefe gaffe

Since his election as President of the United States, Donald Trump's Twitter activity has come in for ever-increasing scrutiny and, more often than not, ridicule.

The 70-year-old regularly uses the social media platform to pass comment on certain issues or individuals and he sent the Internet into meltdown with a single tweet on Wednesday.

Trump referred to 'the constant negative press covfefe' in a message posted on his page before removing it some hours later, but people had already begun to run with it, poking fun at the President's error.

Memes were created and news outlets across the world published articles examining the bizarre incident, pondering 'what is a covfefe?'

Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas even got in on the act, joining the cacophany of voices on social media lampooning the so-called 'Leader of the Free World' by applying meaning to the 'word'.

The Spain international, who just helped the Blues win the Premier League, shared a photo of himself with his two children along with the message: "With my 2 #Covfefe.'

Whatever his level of interest in politics, it is clear that Fabregas, like most people, is paying attention to President Trump.

Despite the bewilderment sweeping the world online, Trump himself appeared to embrace the fun side of his mistake, posting: "Who can figure out the true meaning of "covfefe"??? Enjoy!"
