'Win with a bit of class!' - Man Utd legend Scholes blasts Mourinho

Jose Mourinho's gesture toward Juventus fans following a 2-1 win for Manchester United on Tuesday had Old Trafford legend Paul Scholes believing the Portuguese manager could show more class in victory. 

The Premier League side had to come from behind to earn their win, Cristiano Ronaldo having hit a stunning opener for the home side in the second half before Juan Mata equalized with a sublime free kick. 

Alex Sandro's own goal sealed the victory late on, sparking the Man United boss walking to the middle of the pitch with his hand raised up beside his ear. 

Mourinho, who has claimed he was taunted by the Juve support throughout the match, doesn't believe his gesture showed any disrespect to the Italian side or their players. 

"I wanted to hear them louder," he told Sky Sport Italia as part of his explanation  of motioning to the supporters. 

But the action drew a response from several Juventus players, including Leonardo Bonucci and Paulo Dybala, who confronted Mourinho at the time. 

And former Manchester United midfielder Scholes did not see any reason for the current boss to act in such a way. 

"You need to win with a bit of class," Scholes said on BT Sport .

"I don't think there is any need for that. Go over and clap the away fans, shake the manager's hand.

"It is needless but that is just the way he is."

Mourinho drew criticism after the first match between the sides at Old Trafford, which Juventus won 1-0, for holding up three fingers at the traveling support, a signal of the treble he won why managing Serie A rivals Inter. 

Juvetus still sit atop Champions League Group H, having won each of their first three matches before falling to United. 

The win on Wednesday left Mourinho's side second in the group on seven points, two clear of Valencia and six in front of Old Boys. 

United face a critical derby match with Manchester City on Sunday ahead of the international break.

Pep Guardiola's Premier League leaders sit nine points clear of the Old Trafford outfit, who currently sit seventh in the league table.
