Youthful tactician William Muluya explains to Goal what inspired his players past record champions K'Ogalo in FKF Shield Cup

Kariobangi Sharks ended Gor Mahia's jinx last weekend with a 4-2 post match penalties win in the FKF Shield Cup.

After a barren draw in regular time, the spot-kicks were used to decide the winner, and Sharks, who had lost four previous league matches against Gor Mahia, managed to get through. Youthful tactician William Muluya has revealed to Goal what he told his charges before facing the record champions.

“We had lost four matches against them, Gor Mahia, and it is not that we played badly but because we did not take our chances. Something had to be done, and I told my players to have self believe and ensure they minimize their mistakes on the pitch, and that is what they did.

“We were unlucky not to score considering the number of chances we created, but I am happy we managed to get through to the next stage.”

The Sharks will now face Ulinzi Stars in the semi-finals of the competition.
