Manchester City Premier League
Manchester City made it back-to-back titles last season after pipping Liverpool by a single point, but will they make it three in a row this campaign?

Another thrilling season of Premier League action has kicked off and Manchester City are looking to make it a hat-trick of titles.

Pep Guardiola’s men dramatically retained their title last term after being pushed all the way by Liverpool, who finished 25 points above third-placed Chelsea.

Who are the favourites to win the Premier League?

Man City are 4/6 (1.67) with bet365 to win the Premier League for the third season in a row, having taken 10 points from their first five games of the campaign.

Guardiola's side won three of their first four games but suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at newly-promoted Norwich City, ending an 18-match unbeaten run in the competition.

Despite that loss, the bookmakers still believe City are the team to beat, which comes as little surprise considering they won 32 games in each of the last two seasons.

Liverpool are the only side to boast a 100 per cent record after five matches and are 6/4 (2.50) to win their maiden Premier League title.

The Reds have yet to struggle for goals in any of their fixtures, scoring 15 times, however their usually mean defence has kept just one clean sheet all season.

Who are the Premier League outsiders?

Tottenham are 40/1 (41.0) long shots to win the Premier League, which comes as little surprise considering they finished 27 points behind Man City last term.

Spurs have yet to find any consistency in their result so far, losing 1-0 at home to Newcastle before surrendering a 2-0 lead at Arsenal in the North London derby, although they most recently beat Crystal Palace 4-0.

bet365 go 80/1 (81.0) that Frank Lampard can turn round a disastrous start and lead Chelsea to glory, with the Blues having seemingly got back on track after a shaky start.

An opening day defeat to Manchester United has been followed by two wins and two draws, including a 5-2 mauling of Wolves at Molineux.

Who are the Premier League underdogs?

Arsenal are out at 100/1 (101.0) to end what will be a 16-year drought by winning the Premier League title next May.

The Gunners started impressively with two wins from two and rescued a point against Spurs, and are one of six teams sitting on eight points.

Manchester United can be backed at 100/1 (101.0) after a staggering upset by Crystal Palace at Old Trafford was followed by a 1-1 draw at Southampton and a narrow 1-0 victory over Leicester.

That result now means the Red Devils have taken eight points from their opening five games, with their 4-0 drubbing of Chelsea on opening day meaning they are fourth in the table.

Such is the gulf between the top six and the remainder of the Premier League that Leicester City, who have lost just once this season, are 300/1 (301.0) shots with bet365 whilst Everton are 750/1 (751.0).
