Goal takes a look at the three most important men for Luis Enrique's side in the Primera Division this campaign and picks the best of the bunch

Barcelona have two games left in La Liga this season and Luis Enrique's side remain in contention for a third successive title.

The Blaugrana are top of the table thanks to their superior head-to-head record with rivals Real Madrid, although Los Blancos still have a game in hand and are therefore favourites to claim the trophy.

M SN broke the mould - Luis Enrique

Players like Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Samuel Umtiti, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Ivan Rakitic, Sergi Roberto and Rafinha have all been important in the Primera Division for Barca this term, but here  Goal runs through the top three performers for the Catalan club in 2016-17 in descending order...

Neymar has been criticised by many in the current campaign due to his relative lack of goals, but this season has without doubt been the Brazilian's best since signing from Santos in the summer of 2013.

Although he has been the least prolific member of Barca's MSN trident with 10 goals in La Liga, the 25-year-old has been just as important as a creator and has racked up 10 assists in the Primera Division in 2016-17.

Recently banned for three matches following his red card and subsequent protests in the defeat at Malaga, the Brazilian set Barca on their way to victory with a goal in the 4-1 win over Villarreal on Saturday and helped to win a penalty with a remarkable run into the box late in the game.

Luis Suarez may not have hit the heights of last season this time around, but the Uruguay forward has still contributed a big share of Barcelona's goals in 2016-17.

After scoring 40 in La Liga in 2015-16, the former Liverpool striker has netted 27 in his 33 appearances in the Primera Division this term and many of those have been vital for the Catalan club.

Suarez scored doubles home and away against Espanyol, as well as key goals versus Valencia, Villarreal and Sevilla, while he is the only player from either side to net in both Clasico clashes this term. He has also provided 12 assists to his team-mates in La Liga this season.

Lionel Messi is Barcelona's best player and this season has been no different as the Argentine attacker has remained the team's go-to guy in terms of goals and inspiration - especially in La Liga.

Messi contract talks 'on track'

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has hit 35 goals in the Primera Division and is on target to claim his fourth European Golden Shoe, while he also has nine assists to his name in La Liga this term.

His match-winning performance at the Santiago Bernabeu last month, when he hit two goals including a last-gasp winner to defeat Real Madrid, is one standout moment, but there are many others as well, including a similar performance in a 3-2 win at Valencia and doubles against Celta Vigo, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Valencia at home and Villarreal at the weekend.
