U-17 World Cup 2017 - The key clashes in New Delhi

The  Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi is an all-seater facility for 58,000 spectators that hosts football and athletics. In terms of seating capacity, it is the fourth largest multipurpose stadium in India and the 51st in the worldwide list. And this is where India U-17 team will play their FIFA U-17 World Cup group games.

It was built in 1982 for the Asian Games and was recently renovated for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. It has also hosted the 1989 Asian Championships in Athletics and ever since 2014 it has been the home ground for ISL team Delhi Dynamos. 

India are slotted into Group A along with Colombia, USA and Ghana. The group promises mouth-watering clashes as Ghana, who are two-time champions, will be looking to make it three this year.

Meanwhile, USA and Colombia have both reached the semi-finals of the tournament once in the past.

This will be India's first ever appearance at this level and the host nation will really have work their socks off to make it out of their group.
