Twitter reacts to India's 1-0 AFC Asian Cup qualifier win over Kyrgyzstan

On Tuesday night, India romped to the top of Group A of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers with a 1-0 win over Kyrgyzstan, courtesy a fine finish from the Indian skipper, Sunil Chhetri. Despite being dominated by the Kyrgyz team for large parts of the game, India soaked in the pressure and rode their captain's inspirational goal to maintain their winning start in the group.

In front of a vociferous crowd at the Kanteerava stadium, India notched their eighth victory in a row (including an unofficial friendly win over Bhutan) and are now set to climb further in the FIFA rankings table.

Stephen Constantine's men deserve credit for not wilting under pressure at times during the game, with Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Anas Edathodika putting in an immense shift in defence. The win realistically puts India on course to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup 2019 in UAE and the fans celebrated it by going on overdrive both in the stadium and on social media.
