Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they host APOEL Nicosia in their final Champions League group game at Wembley on Wednesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team have failed to fire in domestic competition in recent weeks, having won just one of their last seven matches against English opposition, although they have been superb in Europe and having won four of their first five fixtures in this competition, the north Londoners are already assured of a place in the Champions League group stages as Group H winners.
Spurs are as short as 4/23 (1.17) with SportPesa to pick up all three points against the Cypriot champions at Wembley on Wednesday; Pochettino’s team have won 3-1 in their last three Champions League clashes in the competition at this venue and the odds compilers offer 21/2 (11.50) that the scoreline is repeated.
Getty ImagesThe the same firm also offer a tempting 20/23 (1.87) that Spurs strike at least three times against Donis’s men, as Real Madrid did when they hosted the Nicosians.
APOEL have failed to win any of their last 13 Champions League ties – and were unable to find the net in no fewer than nine of those fixtures - so it is no surprise that SportPesa go 5/6 (1.83) on Spurs keeping a clean sheet in this clash, while Pochettino’s team are available at 20/21 (1.95) with the same firm to win to nil.
Despite that dismal record, the Cypriot side have plenty to play for as they will be guaranteed a third place finish in Group H should they better Borussia Dortmund’s result against reigning European champions Real Madrid, and SportPesa price it at 13/1 (14.0) that Donis’s side claim a famous win in this one, whilst the draw is available at 7/1 (8.0).

APOEL, though, have never won a Champions League clash on their travels and, having suffered a 3-0 defeat when these two teams locked horns on Cypriot soil back in September, SportPesa’s 20/23 (1.87) quote for the home side to score at least three goals could well represent decent value for punters.
Spurs should be strong enough to cast their struggles aside in this game and the 26/25 (2.04) quote for Mauricio Pochettino’s men to win by more than two goals could well prove popular.
The shot-shy visitors, though, may well struggle to make much of an impact and, so, it is the 20/21 (1.95) on offer for Spurs to win to nil that could offer best value for punters ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Wembley.
