The former Juventus forward will remain in Major League Soccer despite receiving "huge offers" to play in the Chinese Super League.

Sebastian Giovinco is staying put in Major League Soccer, passing up on an opportunity to play in China "for now," according to his agent.

Agent Andrea D'Amico revealed last month there have been "huge offers" from the Chinese Super League for Giovinco, but he told Sky Sport Italia the Toronto FC forward has turned down the opportunity to play in the big-spending league.

"For now, he has said no," D'Amico told Sky .

"The money was not right for Toronto and it wasn't right for him either, but let's see. When you talk about the transfer market, it's always a case of 'for now.'

"There are so many intermediaries operating with Chinese clubs. They came here and made us an offer, both from Beijing and from other clubs, and then there is an escalation once the first offer is rejected with a better one arriving."

Giovinco, an Italy international, has emerged as one of the best players in MLS, earning MVP honors following his first season in Toronto in 2015.
