Time for Paul Pogba to lift against Manchester United's bogey side Wolves

Paul Pogba's struggling form is in the microscope as Manchester United face a tough trip to Wolves on Wednesday morning [AEDT].

One of the huge positives since Jose Mourinho was sacked and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer installed had been the incredible surge in performance from Pogba - who has been the driving force behind United's recovery to be a top four challenger.

The French World Cup winner scored eight goals and got five assists in Solskjaer's first nine Premier League games in charge to announce himself as the leader of the Norweigan's reign.

But Pogba has gone missing in recent matches, having failed to find the net in his last five matches - with his last goals coming on February 9 against Fulham.

He has still been involved in five of United's last eight away goals and will need to lift considerably if the Red Devils are to get the three points at the Molineux.

United have slipped to fifth position prior to this match - but are level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham and two points behind Arsenal, who are one further position ahead.

Wolves have won more points (10) against the 'big six' sides than any of the other 14 Premier League teams - and also have an impressive record against United this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side were the better team in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in September before knocking Manchester United out of the FA Cup quarter finals 2-1 last month.

United must be wary of Wolves' in-form attacking stars Raul Jimenez and Diego Jota - with the pair scoring 11 of the team's last 15 home goals (Jimenez 6, Jota 5).

Wolves are sitting pretty in seventh with 44 points but they only have gap of two points over 11th-placed West Ham - meaning a drop into the bottom isn't far away with a couple of poor results.
