Redknapp odds-on favourite to win I'm A Celebrity

Harry Redknapp has become the odds-on favourite to be named winner of this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

The veteran manager has established himself as frontrunner in the latest series of the reality show with his amusing anecdotes and love for jam roly-poly, and is now priced 4/5 by Bet365.

Since going into the jungle the ex-West Ham and Tottenham boss has eaten sheep brains and fish eyes, and struck up an unexpected friendship with actor John Barrowman.

The 71-year-old has also regaled the camp with stories about his wife of 54 years, Sandra, and how he met her a nightclub called ‘Two Puddings’ and once ran her over in his car by accident.

Redknapp has also been sharing tales from his life in football, and recently revealed that his favourite manager to share a post-match drink with was Sir Alex Ferguson.

When asked about his favourite opposite numbers he said: “Every manager after every game came in your office. Fergie was always great. He had a great bottle of wine. He would get something special in when you went there.

"I have been in his office at 2:45 for a 3pm kick-off. The teams would go out and he would have the racing on!

"I would sit there and he said I have got one in the 2:45. I said 'Alex I have got to go'.

"But he wasn't bothered because he would go and win and had such a good team.”

Redknapp has been out of a job since being sacked by Birmingham in September 2017. During his 13-match tenure, Blues won just four matches, and he left St Andrews with the club second bottom of the Championship.

The former Spurs boss’ only managerial honour came in 2008 when he guided Portsmouth to a first FA Cup triumph since 1939.

On a personal level, Redknapp was awarded Premier League Manager of the Season in 2010 after helping Tottenham reach the Champions League. At that time, he was the only Englishman to have won the honour.
