Red hot Sofapaka ready to down Mathare United

Sofapaka midfielder Charles Okwemba is optimistic they will down Mathare United in their next league outing.

The midfielder made a return to the top flight last weekend after almost a year out since quitting Ushuru FC. The former AFC Leopards ace is confident his new side will do well this season after escaping relegation last season by a whisker.

"Last weekend I was happy returning to scoring ways, though I still feel the disallowed goal should have stood, I was not in an offside position. It feels great to play again after an extended absence from the game. I have a lot to offer and my aim right now is to help this team," Okwemba told Goal.

"We are currently on top form and Mathare United should be prepared for us, we want maximum points from them and that is what we will try and get."

Batoto ba Mungu lost their opener against Sony Sugar by a solitary goal before bouncing back to beat Western Stima away.
